I made this blog to quite simply try blogging like everyone else but it turns out I am a horrible blogger. However, I am great with letters….
I am so sorry I have barely seen you this summer and I apologize in advance for my departure in a little over a week. So many places, so little time. You have been a good home to me but you see is, I oddly enjoy living in the unfamiliar and meeting new people. I love the fact I can create new memories and explore fresh places. It’s rejuvenating and it clears my tangled slate. So my favorite thing this summer?
Arizona was a spectacular place. My family laughed, played, and skied Lake Meed and then journeyed to the Grand Canyon where we hiked into the abyss. It was hard for me to thoroughly enjoy such a site for it seemed fake-not real-a figment of my imagination. Since I could not wrap my head around such a spectacular moment, I stood there gazing into the horizon, where the sky touched the canyon, thanking God for my family, my life, and the future I have yet to discover.
In all good things, one always needs a little space from their family. Nothing bad, just part of growing up. So I journeyed to Vegas to meet my loves or my fellow Californian runaways for a weekend! There is only so much I can write about Vegas on such a public site, but I’ll tell you Miss Arizona did a fantastic job and you would be proud of Miss California for nailing Miss USA!
Colorado: My new love and my new home. California you are still my number 1! I just couldn’t wait to till August so I flew over there to see my newly made best buds. There is a part of me there, starting way before my recent move there. Every time I see a deer or a bird I am reminded why. Our family, no matter what happens, where they are, will always be there beside us. What up flatirons!? Miss me? I missed you! If you haven’t been to Boulder I’ll tell you this. No matter who you are, where you are going, what is on your agenda, look up at the flatirons every morning and you will have a fabulous day. My tiny vacation in Colorado took me to Grand Lake. So beautiful and so unforgettable! There are memories there I personally will never forget :)
Ok Kid Rock, I think I am one of the select few that understand your fascination with Northern Michigan. Crystal Lake- It is my favorite place on this earth. SO BEAUTIFUL! It’s always just a summer thing but it is where I forget everything, enjoy my family, clear the wants and the needs, stop all missing, and do nothing but live in the moment. It is nothing but happiness. If it was up to me I would be there “all summer long!” Those party rockin porch parties will never get old.
So here I am California, “right back where… [I]…started from.” So my favorite thing this summer??? ALL OF IT! Let have some fun before you will be missed once again :)
